Toxicology
Integral toxicologists have substantial experience assessing human health effects and exposures from chemical, biological, and physical substances in air, soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water. Our toxicological evaluations and risk assessments have included screening-level, detailed, and multi-pathway analyses at manufacturing, processing, treatment, storage, and disposal sites. From conducting risk evaluations for clients in government and industry to serving as expert witnesses in litigation cases for insurance companies or attorneys, we have the knowledge and experience to answer our clients’ health risk concerns. Our key staff are certified and participate in professional organizations, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and give presentations at professional meetings.

Health Effects
Our scientists are experts in fully characterizing health effects from exposure to metals such as lead, arsenic, and cadmium; chemicals including chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, dioxins, and volatile organic compounds; and physical agents such as asbestos.

We help manufacturers or users of commercial products obtain and interpret the information they need to address product safety concerns. Our scientific support includes toxicological evaluation, literature compilation and critical evaluation, exposure analyses, assessment of product composition and stability, and effective interpretation of data for diverse audiences.

Bioavailability
Bioavailability considerations are often important to gaining a more accurate assessment of exposure and dose-response. Led by an internationally-recognized expert on bioavailability in soils, our applied toxicology experts help clients resolve critical questions about relative bioavailability of chemicals such as metals ingested in soil and in the human diet.
